Duplex Connection

Inspired by the al fresco conviviality at 18th & U Duplex Diner in DC's Adams Morgan, captured en plein air and then reinterpreted in this studio version, which reflects and celebrates the connections between us and to ourselves when we gather with intimacy and friendship. We can only know ourselves and experience our full humanity through the open and empathetic connections we build with one another.

This work was juror-selected for the Art 4 Us exhibition on the theme "Threads of Connection ...between us, to our common humanity, to ourselves, and to that which creates meaning for us and binds us together" in February 2024 at Gallery B, Bethesda, Maryland.
