Plein Air painted June 6th, 2026, as part of A Taste of Riverworks art and fundraising festival in and around Poolesville, Maryland.  17 participating artists were assigned various locations around Montgomery County's scenic Agricultural Reserve to capture the scene and then present their fresh paintings for a fundraising auction that afternoon.  My assigned location was Locals Farm Market and Cafe, a fantastic location right in Poolesville! Pleasing social scene, great food and drink, artisanal agricultural products, and live music. The day was overcast all morning with the sun showing up in the afternoon. I committed to the gray sky version here. This piece was not sold at the auction. 40% of the sale price will be donated to Riverworks Arts Center.
